What is Rhinoplasty?

The Rhinoplasty, nose job, is a frequent intervention. Rhinoplasty consists of altering the shape of the nose, producing changes in its appearance, remodeling it. The changes produced by Rhinoplasty can be to increase or decrease the back of the nose, change the shape of the tip, narrow the nose, change the angle between the lip and the nasal tip.

Rhinoplasty can help correct alterations, respiratory problems, the nasal septum or injuries.

Rhinoplasty is personal for each patient, it adapts to the specific needs of each person.

Optional: Perfiloplastia: Nose, Cheekbones and Chin are combined in the same surgery.

Rhinoplasty Details

Technique

Rhinoplasty is normally done inside the nose. In this case the scar is inside, so it is not visible at all.

If Rhinoplasty has to be performed externally, the scars are hidden in inconspicuous places.

After the Rhinoplasty procedure, some plaster and a plaster are placed on them to keep the nose in the desired position, which is removed a week.

Duration and Anesthesia

The operating time of a Rhinoplasty usually varies between one and two hours and is performed under general anesthesia. If only the tip is treated, it can be done under local anesthesia.

Postoperative

Rhinoplasty does not have a painful postoperative period, bruising may appear around the eyes.

Special care must be taken in cleaning the nostrils and in the application of anti-inflammatory creams, not being able to blow for a month and a half.

Relative rest should be maintained for three to four days and no physical activity should be performed for one month.

Results

The result of Rhinoplasty is seen immediately.

The 80% of inflammation is reduced to one month, the rest of the inflammation being able to extend until six months. The result is permanent.
