What are Bichat Balls?
The chewing muscles that produce the closure of the mouth are located on each side of the face and connect the skull with the jaw. For this muscle group to operate with easy gliding they need a fat pad called Fatty Bichat Bag.
There is a group of people whose Bichat bag is very evident, giving the sensation of a round face with cheeks without limits.
The volume of this fat is not necessarily related to body weight and this is why many thin people can present a wide and thick face that does not correspond to their body weight.
Bichectomy
The fat located in this area is not reduced with diet and exercise, that is why we carry out this intervention to extract them in a non-invasive intervention, with local anesthesia. Once removed, it is highly unlikely that they will reappear.
Facial Aesthetics | Bichat Balls
Bichectomy is the procedure in cosmetic surgery through which Bichat Balls are removed. This procedure is very simple and fast, which is why, on many occasions, It can be combined with another type of facial surgery that helps us achieve our goals. The most common is to combine the Bichectomy with the Rhinoplasty wave Mentoplasty, since all these surgeries will be aimed at achieving a more harmonious and balanced face.
After a Bichectomy the patient can immediately join their usual routine, always with full sun protection and avoiding intense physical activities, as in most plastic surgery interventions. We also recommend following a white diet for a week.
