What is the Twin Prosthesis?
Occasionally we see patients with very poorly shaped calves. Twin augmentation is a surgical solution aimed at improving the size and shape of twins with little volume.

Technique
The operation consists of making an incision in the knee fold, popliteal socket, and inserting the silicone implant. These silicone prostheses are specially designed for this purpose and significantly increase the volume of the legs.
Duration and Anesthesia
The intervention lasts approximately one hour, with local anesthesia and sedation or epidural, on an outpatient basis.
Postoperative
At the end of the operation, a compression bandage is applied that is removed after 48 hours, which ensures the correct position of the implants and the protection of the wound. You will then wear a compression girdle for 3 weeks.
Most discomfort is well controlled with the prescribed medication. At approximately 20 days the intradermal suture will be removed. You can shower normally after 4 days, although baths are not recommended until the stitches are removed.
