What is Breast Lift?
Over the years, factors such as pregnancy, lactation and the force of gravity have their effect on the female breast. The skin loses elasticity, the breasts frequently lose their shape and firmness and begin to sag.
Breast lift, or mastopexy, is a surgical procedure that lifts and reshapes sagging breasts. Mastopexy lifts the breasts without altering their size, giving them a younger and more discreet appearance.
Breast Lift
The criterion for determining the need for a pure mastopexy or surgery with breast prostheses is related to the degree of breast loss, the amount of breast tissue and the position of the areola and nipple in relation to the submammary sulcus.

Candidate Patients
1.- Women with small saggy breasts. This first group will only request that they raise their breasts to the height they used to be.
2.- If the breasts are small or have lost volumeFor example, after pregnancy, breast implants along with mastopexy can increase both firmness and breast size. This second group will come to request a breast augmentation without realizing that their breast is sagging.

The scar can be in the form of an anchor or in "L" shape towards the armpit, leaving the neckline free of scar. Dr. Joaquín García Aparicio is a pioneer in Spain in introducing this technique.
In the event that the L-shaped surgery cannot be performed, the traditional inverted "T" -shaped surgery will be used, which will also allow for a beautiful neckline.
Technique
The techniques employed may include incisions around the areola only in minimal cases.
The most common technique usually leaves a scar around the areola and another vertical one up to the breast groove.
Once the new position of the areola and nipple has been established and the amount of excess skin estimated, this is removed and the breast is contoured.
In practically all cases it is necessary to remodel the gland to give it an adequate shape and height. And in the most severe cases, one more incision in the submammary sulcus.
Mastopexy can also reduce the size of the areola.
Duration and Anesthesia
The anesthesia used is usually a local anesthetic with sedation and the time of the intervention is usually around two hours. it is usually an outpatient surgery.
Postoperative
The evolution will depend on whether breast implants have been placed or only redistributed using the tissues themselves. In the latter case, the recovery will be shorter and you will not have the discomfort inherent in implant placement. In this case you may experience a feeling of tension or turgidity while your skin adjusts to the new size of the breast.
At the end of the operation, it is also placed on an anatomical bra that will be kept for a month and a compression bandage, which is removed after 48 hours, which ensures the correct position of the implants and the protection of the wound. It will be replaced by a bra. You will be able to return to work in a week or two, although you will be able to live a normal life within a few days.
Most discomfort is well controlled with the prescribed medication. At approximately 20 days the intradermal suture will be removed. You can shower normally after 4 days, although baths are not recommended until the stitches are removed.
The treatments that require surgery of this type, although the way to heal is unique for each patient, will be treated specifically, with great care, so that the healing is optimal and is noted as little as possible.
Results
Mastopexy presents a high degree of satisfaction In addition to the aesthetic improvement, it also offers an improvement in the psychological aspect.
The definitive results will not be visible until the breast tissues and skin have adjusted to the new shape and volume.
«I stayed as I wanted, what I asked for was what was done to me. Whenever a friend asks me, I send her directly to the Renaissance Madrid clinic ».
«I was informed about the treatments, the cases carried out by Dr. García-Aparicio and his career and I had it clear, I had to do it at the Renaissance Madrid Clinic»
«I consulted at least 5 clinics before choosing Renaissance Clinic Madrid. They were transparent at all times, they gave me the prices over the phone and Dr. Garcia Aparicio explained to me very detailed and easy to understand the whole process ».
